Reason 0021 : Singaporeans with No Phone Manners

I received a call from a Singaporean 'auntie' today. I say auntie because she sounded like she was in her forties. This woman called up asking for a non-existent person so I informed her politely that "we do not have anyone by that name here. " This woman then put down the phone on me without saying a word! Wtf?!? Too bad I do not have caller number display, or else I would have called back and given her a piece of my mind.

I think the gracious thing here would be to say "oh sorry, I made a mistake". Is it so fucking difficult for Singaporeans to say this or am I asking for too much?

Hi

This is pretty normal in Singapore. Once someone called my office and simply kept saying..."Did anyone called my handphoen ..over and over again". The receptionist was at the end of her wits coz she kept asking..whst ur name sir and I could ask around...but still the same response...did anyone call me!!!! lol.
And this is just one of many bad manners they have.

Agree.

There was once this old man yelled "f*** you" at me when I told him that we are not looking for anyone above a certain age.

You are asking for too much.

No, you're not asking for too much. saying "oh sorry" is what we called "having a good manner and values"

Some of Singaporeans are "polite" but most of them, are really really "rude". Good thing that their government are working on it.

You are so rude yourself and you expect people to be more polite than you? Why?

I agree with you and the other anonymous people equally. Look, all that is coming out of your mouthu is also vulgarities, and you want people to have manners? DREAM ON. START FROM YOURSELF DUDE. and plueeez, not all people from singapore are like that. Its only some people like u who are like that. Seriously, i dont mean to be so straightforward, but please look at yourself before critising others. Thank you.

I too agree that demanding the polite answers are not much that you are expecting or asking for but at same time I too feel that people on this post also do not seem all polite .Right?

Normal things to me. I used to deal with this shit for several times when I was worked in Singapore. It happened when I was received a call from the strangers at 4 O'clock in the morning while I were slept. I picked up the phone and answered the call. I asked "Who's this?". Then these strangers replied back with a high tone "David Lim aa?". I replied "No madam, you got the wrong number". She replied back "Don't cheat leh. I now la it's you". I was like 'OMG'.

This is the conversation between me and her for the rest:

Me: " No. I'm not cheating and once again I tell you that this is not David Lim "

Madam: " $%^#&* !!! (Speak in Mandarin I guess. Sound like she's insulting me) "

Me: " Ma'am, you want me to made a police report? I can do so cause right now you are disturbing me. Plus, you keep insulting me with your language. "

Madam: " Haiyaa... wan make report then go leh! I don't care. You think I scare meh? @#$%^*!!! (Speak in Mandarin I guess).

I switched off my phone due to this conversation was bloody irritates for me. I admit, not all SINGAPOREAN act like this. Only a few does but I dare to say that almost of Singaporean did this shit. Trust me. It could be your fucking nightmare if you don't watch out.
