To all foreigners who are new to Singapore and are starting to drive here: "DO NOT SIGNAL WHEN CHANGING LANES!" Why, you might ask? The reason is because when you signal, Singapore drivers take it as a sign for them to speed up so as to prevent you from cutting into their lane.
I admit, I exaggerated the above a little as not every driver is like that. However, the truth is not far from what I had described. Any psychologist or student in psychology with extra time on their hands should do a dissertation of thesis on what goes through the minds of these drivers. This should prove to be a fascinating study in psychosis.
What is wrong with these people? Are they so small and repressed at work or home that they have to indulge in anti-social acts like this to win? To prove themselves superior to others? To vindicate themselves?

I have to gracefully agree not that I like it!!! Being a Singaporean who had spent most of my life in Singapore ( not anymore ), driving there can be a little complicated despite having a world class road system. It is the psychology of the drivers that is mind-boggling. It all comes down to the fact that no matter how much on top Singapore is in all aspects, one cannot deny that the majority of Singaporeans are graceless. This is after all a country that needs campaigns to remind its people to have good manners!!!

Come to the U.A.E Dubai, Abu Dhabi and try to drive. I can bet in 1 weeks time, you will be in a serious accident due to the immature underage rich and spoiled drivers here. Come come.
hmm. I'm not sure, but... there's always the bright side of things---at least you are not in China or India, where jams can occur just because 3 cars met at a T and non refused to give way :)
I agree with you. However, you can't just say that this is one of the reasons why you hate Singapore because in other countries, there are also people like that. Besides, don't we all experience bad days? Maybe some drivers are feeling real depressed and they really cannot stand it anymore? Think about it please. I seriously and honestly agree with you because i'm also a frustrated Singaporean, but please think about it again.
For Pete's sakes, Singapore traffic is considered a lot better than other countries' already. You complain so much about Singapore, not knowing how much worse other countries are. Yes, Singapore is "bad", but compared to other countries we are already very prosperous and successful.
